INTERPRETATION
CONFERENCES, MEETINGS, SUMMITS
Unlike translation, interpreting focuses on verbal communication, and there are two main techniques: consecutive and simultaneous.
In consecutive interpretation, the interpreter conveys the message into the target language when the speaker makes a pause or finishes talking. This practice is commonly required in conference calls, judicial proceedings, interviews, bilateral meetings, political negotiations, press conferences, and other events in general.
Simultaneous interpretation consists of delivering the speaker's message in real time into the target language. This technique is widely used in conferences, summits, congresses, presentations in front of big audiences, and television or radio broadcasts.
